Early records

J and I biked to Sandy Creek this morning to meet Jeremy Reynolds with Luca and Grace. J wanted to take Friedel and was holding him as we rode off on the black bike. Two hours later, as we were on our way home from Sandy Creek, I didn’t see Friedel. He hadn’t been turned in at the nature center. Jamie was extremely upset by this time, his little face was breaking down. As we rode home along the Greenway, amid his tears J said thet maybe Friedel would be happy living in the woods. On the way home he kept repeating: “Das ist nicht gut,” “Das ist schlimm.” He also said: “Aber wir haben immer noch Thusnelda und Spiggy.” Thankfully, we found Friedel near our house. He had fallen to the ground on the sidewalk along King just north of Belvoir. The person who found him put him up on the nearest mailbox post. J, I, Friedel, Thusnelda and Spiggy all had a love-and-hug-fest when we got home. Later from another room I heard J narrating the affair at some length to Schmusi Klapperschlange.

Early records
