Schach

J is learning chess at school. This morning we went over all the figures and rules in German using Wikipedia.de, then J and Sabine, who is very good, played against me. Sabine explained what was going on and suggested moves, and J moved the pieces. He and she discussed strategy a good bit. It was a very chat-heavy game.

I was checkmated in about 25 minutes.

I don't do the puppets much anymore, but teaching J chess is a perfect scenario for them. We tried a little test-game before Sabine, and J rapidly became frustrated and wanted to stop. Under the conceit of Sabine playing against me with J helping, things worked perfectly in the "triangular" way I talk about in my L2-puppetry article
